WorkSpace
I'm currently working on the next digital comic. These four strips make up the first of four different chapters in a continuous story. I'm learning as I go.
This image shows you my drawing table. I sketch directly on the screen of my laptop with my tablet pc - no paper drawings! I love the flexiblity of drawing with software tools readily available, but I miss the nice feel/texture and friction between the pencil and the page when I'm drawing those sweeping circles.
The story line is much more serious than I'm used to. It's about never giving up and making sacrifices for people. It's an extremely ambitious project for me so I'm hoping I'll be able to finish this until the end.
Girl Characters
I like the punk rocker design. Between her and another girl design with some attitude the story should have plenty of spice. I distinctly remember staying up past 10 pm one night at art school. I rarely stay up that late, but it was Friday and my room mates were hanging out. One by one they all told which kind of girl they liked until it got to me. Before I went into my own description I suddenly got a case of deja vu. "Havn't we had the conversation before?" They then told me that they have this conversation every night, it's just that I usually go to bed by the time we get around to it. And I also remember that each of them confessed to have a crush on a punk rocker chick at some point in their life. I must admit, I did too in my first year of college at University of Houston. And then again in my first year of art school. Punk Rocker chicks look cool. And that's why I had to design one for my new character lineup.
